Day 7 Molveno to Lake Garda

Today is 48 km with only 330 m altitude gain. i am looking forward to a more relaxing day today.

The Adventure came to an end today 3 september 2021 at 12:23 I arrived at the northern tip of Lake Garda over the 7 Days I cycled 450 km with an elevation gain of 7860 m and 34 hours and 41 minutes of cycling (well quite a bit of pushing included). I was pleasantly surprised how well I managed and, with the exception of Day 6, I could have taken on quite a bit more. The main thing is that I really enjoyed the 7 Days even with the miserable weather on the first couple of days. All in all there was a lot of sweat a little blood and no tears.

What about today? After leaving the hotel this morning I started on an uphill trail with some steep and rocky sections, which I chose to push to look after my knee. After about 9 km the long way down started. The gravel roads were very dry and had a lot of loose pebbles with some sharp stones. Unfortunately I was a little over confident and my rear tyre lost grip on a curve and I hit the ground and got a bit of a cut on my left calf. It probably could have done with a couple of stitches, being well prepared I had a small medical kit so I could treat the wound and continue down (a little more carefully :-) ) On the way down there were absoulute spectacular views. I also passed through a quaint little village. The last section was along a river bank cycle path, with steep rock faces on the one side with many rock climbers. While there were apple orchards there was far more vineyards. My arrival at the end point of the trip was perfectly timed and I could enjoy a pasta lunch. Anne-Marie joined me for Italian ice cream and a drink. I then cycled back 8 km up the track to the very pleasan hotel where we will be spending some relaxing time. It is quite funny my mind and body does not want to stop, it is a bit like an addiction and the urge is there to get up at 5.00 am to go for a couple of hours cycle before the day starts....
